BHQG BRANT HERITAGE QUILTER'S GUILD WELCOME... ....
A diverse group of approximately 100 members spanning the ages (literally). We meet once a month at the St. George United Church for our regular meeting, which always includes a Show and Tell, refreshments, and often a guest speaker, mini demos and more. We organize workshops, retreats, raffles, and a great quilt show. In 2011 we made over 150 quilts to donate to different Brant County Social Service Organizations. Brant County includes Brantford, winner of the Gardens Awards; the home of Wayne Gretzky; Paris, voted one of the 10 prettiest small towns in Canada by Harrowsmith magazine; and St. George with its Victorian architecture, antique shops and tea rooms and rolling farmland dotted with many picturesque golf courses..
Next Meeting: Thursday, February 13, 2014
St. George United Church 6:30 – 9:00 PM
Doors open at 6:15 PM
Our two annual quilt retreats are gathering places to play, learn and
quilt together, without the interruption of phones, TV and the outside
world. An added bonus is the catered meals. There are always more
experienced quilters who are able to encourage and offer assistance.
The guild maintains a library of hundreds of quilting books for use by
the members at no charge. The guild librarian adds new books every year
and also culls out old or out of date books. The library accepts
suggestions for new materials throughout the year.
Show and tell
This is an opportunity to show our latest efforts to each other, tell
our quilt related stories & applaud everyone’s accomplishments.
Membership draw - prizes every meeting.
50/50 draw at meetings.
Pot luck socials in June and December followed by some form of
entertainment. The food is scrumptious and the camaraderie great fun.
Come and enjoy some fellowship.
